Good news from the District Council.

A proposal to help retail trade and shoppers in Harpenden Town centre was originally intended to start on Nov 30th, 

After months of consultation it is NOW implemented.

Stickers over the existing signs show the new limits 30 mins and 2 hours. But some zones are still 1 hour. CHECK BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR CAR.

Total new look for Harpenden Station Car Park

April 15th.

Car park renovation completed on time and looking good for Harpenden commuters.

April 4th

Thanks to atrocious communications by FCC, commuters who use the car park were only given 3 days notice of the planned resurfacing programme. Early arrivers were shocked to find the main entrance blocked and a barrier at Station Approach manned by 3 police staff. The east car park will be closed until April 15th while contractors Sisk & Son, with 32 workmen, will completely resurface the car park, providing a smooth surface and drainage to ensure there are no flooding problems. This work is contracted by Network Rail and FCC.

Hundreds of drivers are driving to St Albans and Radlett stations to start their journeys there.

The west car park is due to be resurfaced in the Autumn. Let’s hope FCC give Harpenden commuters plenty of notice to make alternative plans.
